What are the Current Awards?
Previously named the Wizard Awards, our chapter's annual awards recognize excellence across public relations and communications, honoring individuals, teams and organizations whose work demonstrates strategic thinking, creativity, integrity and impact within the South Florida community.
Award categories celebrate both professional achievement and meaningful contribution to the field and may include:
- Communicator of the Year
- New Professional of the Year
- Independent Communicator of the Year
- Journalist or Media Professional of the Year
- Agency of the Year
- Communications Team or Department of the Year
- Campaign of the Year
- Crisis Communications Excellence Award
- *Inaugural* PRSSA Student of the Year
- President’s Award
Categories may evolve year to year to reflect emerging trends, disciplines and the diverse ways communicators make an impact across our region.
The deadline to submit nominations for this year's Current Awards is Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Here’s How To Get Started
Nominations & Awards Process
Nominations and applications open approximately two months prior to the awards event. Individuals, teams and organizations are invited to apply or nominate deserving peers by completing the application form below.
Finalists will be notified via email and announced during the awards celebration, which brings together South Florida’s leading communicators for an evening of recognition and connection. The event offers a unique opportunity to celebrate excellence, expand your network and connect with the best in the business
